Stepping Stones has recently expanded to two sites and is increasing student numbers across Key Stages 2 - 5.  As such we continue to look for experienced staff across teaching, educational support and therapy.

Bursar

We are seeking an experienced school bursar to take on a new post in the school as we move forward to further build the skill set and capacity of our core Finance and Administration team. 

The core focus of the role is to ensure the school's finances are well managed to carry out the work of Stepping Stones Trust in its charitable objectives.

Community, Events and Funding Support Officer

This is an exciting new role to secure new charitable income sources to help further the work of Stepping Stones Trust in its charitable objectives. The role will be around  initiating new funding, running events, recruiting and supporting volunteers.  You will be expected to raise the profile of the school and to engage with the local community.

The main section of the school is housed in Undershaw a heritage building where Conan Doyle worked to mastermind the life and adventures of Sherlock Holmes. The school is incredibly outward facing as a charity and plays an important role in  influencing the lives of families and young people impacted by special educational needs.

 Site Apprentice

We have an exciting new apprenticeship available lasting 18-24 months apprenticeship (Facilities Management Standard, Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship).

The role includes undertaking minor repair, porterage and cleaning duties.  In order to support the smooth running of the community use of our buildings and site there will be some evening and weekend work, ensuring full compliance with health and safety legislation.

We currently make provision for 92 children aged 7 – 19 years, with a range of mild disabilities including acute or chronic medical conditions, a range of mild physical disabilities and those youngsters whose mental and/or emotional health is at risk due to their learning disabilities.

Stepping Stones has grown rapidly over the past 10 years and is now ready to expand to a third site to cater for a Lower and Upper school as well as a small Post 16 provision focusing on Traineeships.
