The Waverley Games 2014
On Thursday 3rd April Stepping Stones students took part in the Waverley Para Games 2014. This event was conceived as a way of capitalising on the success of the 2012 Paralympics and it was open to young people with special educational needs and disabilities. Hundreds of young people attended this hugely enjoyable event at Charterhouse School in Godalming, which was sponsored by, among others, the COINS foundation.
The students had the opportnity to meet Paraympic medal winner, hand cyclist Rachel Morris who spoke inspiringly about her success in sport.
The students took part in a number of games including Boccia, table cricket and sitting volley ball. This very entertaining day concluded with a picnic in the grounds of Charterhouse school:
