The school had its second Ofsted inspection in January; Inspections are always stressful and independent schools like ours have to pay for the privelege!
The full report may be viewed on the Ofsted website (www. ofsted.gov.uk)and copies are available from our office; please telephone or e mail if you would like one.
In summary, the school was judged to be outstanding or good in every category. Particularly noteworthy are the inspector's conclusions that
"Students are very well prepared for future life outside the school"
"Students show high levels of tolerance and maturity"
"Students make good progress at the school very often from low starting points, poor school experiences and interrupted education through exclusion and medical treatments"
"Students' work shows an increasing confidence in English, Maths, Science and ICT and there is some high quality Artwork around the school"
"Pupils love coming to school and state this the best place they have been"
We seem, therefore, to be fulfilling our mission to nurture young people, to educate them to the summit of their ability and to prepare them for further education and the world of work. Ofsted gives us an independent verification of our belief that Stepping Stones is a school which offers a real alternative for children who have special educational needs. |
