Heritage Open Day with guest Bonnie MacBird
The school will be opening its doors for the second year running as part of the Heritage Open Days event in September.
The school will be open from 10am to 4pm to visit the home of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in Surrey. There will be tours of the building including with the architect of the restoration, Mark Goodchild.
We also have the privilege of welcoming Hollywood screenwriter Bonnie MacBird, for a talk at 2pm “Writing Sherlock Now - Modern Holmes on screen and in print”, covering the screenwriting of the BBC Sherlock and contemporary novels. (Min. recommended £5 donation). Bonnie was a feature film development exe
cutive at Universal and wrote the original screenplay for the movie TRON. Bonnie will also be signing copies of her new Sherlock Book - Unquiet Spirits from 3.30pm.
There will be a small book and gift shop and cafe open on the day run by volunteers with donations going to school projects. We can only accept cash and cheques on the day.
Parking will be available on-site for those with access requirements and opposite the school entrance 25m walk thanks to Andrews Lawnmower Shop.
